Why Do I Sew Cloth Diapers and Want to Tell Everyone About Them?

I am a mother of five children, and I started thinking about using cloth diapers with my second child. However, in 2009, information was so scarce and uncertainty so high that I only dared to buy them for my third child. But... they were never used. I didn't know that there was an absorbent cloth part and that you needed covers or fabric to keep the clothes from getting wet. I tried a few times and couldn't understand why everything was wet. So, the purchased bamboo diapers ended up in the closet. With my fourth child, I was more determined because I had researched foreign websites on what and how to do it. It is worth mentioning that I am a German philologist by education, and my knowledge of German helped me understand everything and ask relevant questions in German Facebook groups. I was surprised to learn that you can also sew them yourself. This intrigued me, and after buying the first cloth diapers on Ali, I tried sewing them myself. I began to understand this matter.

The cloth diapers I sew are named after my fourth daughter, Bella (BabyBella). With Bella in my belly, I learned the tailor's profession in 2016, although I had already honed my sewing skills back in high school in Valdemārpils, where there was a high school with a home economics focus.

For my fifth child, I used these diapers already in the maternity ward, using both previously bought ones and now the self-sewn BabyBella.

I have regularly used various forms of cloth diapers for my two youngest children and can compare this with the experience of using disposables for my three older ones. I can well understand parents' concerns about the cost, which seems high without knowledge and understanding, and about usage.

I realized that I want to pass on my knowledge. To ensure there is no doubt about the quality and to offer, in my opinion, the most convenient options, I decided to sew them myself for sale. I purchased a pattern license from a specific designer to ensure that the diaper pattern would be suitable for all ages and needs, comfortable and tested.

For everyone interested in the use, washing, storage, and costs of cloth diapers, as well as other questions, I am ready to provide answers. I am happy to respond both individually and by organizing parent meetings. I want to popularize them in Latvia and tell everyone so that all parents who want to can make a choice between using disposable "pamper" or cloth diapers for their babies.
